When God Doesn't Give Us Specifics

Colossians 1:10, "that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;" God clearly wants us to walk in a manner that is worthy of the Lord but have you noticed, and I'm sure you have, that He doesn't always give us clear and specific guidance in our decision making in order to walk in His will!? Most of our thoughts, actions and attitudes are spontaneous if you consider just how many decisions we make during the course of the day. The majority of those decisions aren't ground-breaking, profound or life-altering decisions, but they are decisions nonetheless. We wake up in the morning and decide what we want to wear, eat for breakfast, or if we want breakfast at all. We decide what clothes to wear, what time we'll leave the house, what we're going to do. We decide what newspapers to read, what tv shows to watch, what websites to visit or what subjects to research. We decide what chores need to be done or if we should procrastinate and put them off until tomorrow. We decide a million things throughout the day and we make those decisions SO much, we don't even realize we're making them the majority of the time because they've become second nature to us. It's like we're on autopilot and we do what we do because it's habit. The majority of us don't pray about any of those decisions because of that very thing.

Every decision, no matter how small or insignificant it MAY APPEAR, are decisions that are building blocks in our lives to who we become, who we were and who we are now. So let's say we DO pray about every one of those decisions mentioned above, it'd be extremely rare that we'd be able to take the time necessary to discern God's leading in such matters. And the words "take time to discern" are the operative words here because sometimes, we might pray about something before doing it, but we don't WAIT long enough to discern His voice and guidance and do what WE think we should because it's a "deep-seated" desire of ours anyway. In many ways, we really don't expect God to directly guide us in those small, everyday decisions we make because, if you think about it, we do them almost automatically and that tells me that we don't seek Him to guide us because we've grown to think they aren't important enough to seek His guidance on. Afterall, many of those things are seemingly ordinary, everyday, insignificant duties anyway, right? That's what our fleshly, worldly nature thinks. So should we expect an answer of His will in our decisions when they are profound, life-altering and ground-breaking? Should we expect Him to direct us more expressively and explicitly in these types of decisions? Say for example, we ask His direction and will in our finances? How much money should I save each paycheck? Who should I marry? Should I have children and if so how many? Should I buy a home or rent? What job should I accept? What vocation should I seek? What church should I attend? Should I move and if so, where? All of these questions, and many more that I didn't touch upon, are very serious, life changing, life-altering and profound decisions and most of us would WANT to seek His direction and His will for us in helping us make those decisions. Because with the Lord Jesus Christ, we can't go wrong!

Well, we can EXPECT His direction to be more clear and precise in those decisions but that doesn't mean He WILL! Proverbs 25:2, tell us this simple statement, "It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter." God can conceal whatever He wants to conceal because He knows what each of us need to know and when! He sometimes has to conceal in order for US to SEARCH out a matter! His ways are not our ways and His knowledge and wisdom is WAY above and beyond anything that our minds could ever comprehend! Romans 11:33, "Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!" Remember that God is BIG and anything and everything He does is BIG too! There are many, many reasons why He specifically directs our lives in the way that He does, directing our course of this life and its purpose as well. And because He IS God, He'll carry out all of His purposes and His will for each of us in His perfected ways that will not only confound and perplex the humans, angels and demons, but will also surprise and humble! There is something to be said about when we suddenly, without question or doubt, recognize that His hand was working His perfect will all along, all through the situation, when we couldn’t SEE it! The glory that He receives from this very kind and loving act is IMMENSE! So in essence, He is truly full of mercy by withholding information from us that He KNOWS  we aren't quite ready to know or capable of accepting or understanding! Sometimes, it's much better to go through a situation with faith and trust in the Lord without knowing the "why's" or the "what's" in any given situation. Because that way, when we rely upon Him all through the situation that we are dealing with and praying about, we can SEE His hands were working behind the scenes all along and it gives us such comfort to know that even though WE had no clue, God DID!

See, if we knew all of the answers, if we asked and always got CLEAR written directions straight from God Himself, we;d never really be able to be in AWE of His greatness because we'd always know beforehand. We wouldn't need Faith. We wouldn't need Trust. So in the character of our Great God, He mustn't let us know all of it, all of the time. The most awesome feeling is finally getting through a situation in tact and unscathed only to step back for just a moment and realize that you just actually SAW the hand of God working!!! Being able to see that, to know, without a doubt that His hand carried out His purpose in a profound way, my dear readers, is beyond AMAZING! But one of the main reasons that God won't and often times, doesn't, reveal His specific guidance to us is because He wants us to TRANSFORM and not CONFORM. With some of those perplexing, profound and difficult decisions that we need to make in our lives, God places a much greater emphasis on, and priority IN, us being transformed rather than being conformed. Romans 8:29, "For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren."   This is why Paul wrote in Romans 12:2, "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." This simply means that God has a perfect design in the difficulties of our ability to discern. It's our motives and affections of our hearts, or otherwise our "renewed minds," that are much more clearly revealed in the TESTING of all of our unclear, confusing and obscure decision-making.

We ALL sin and make mistakes. Nobody is exempt from that. But being conformed to the world or to Jesus is definitely clearly seen in the PATTERN of the decisions that we make over time. That’s one of the reasons why He makes us wrestle with uncertainty from time to time. He wants us to mature. He wants us to learn and grow. He wants us to exercise our powers of discernment as it clearly tells us in Hebrews 5:14, "But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to discern both good from evil." God reveals to us in Scripture everything that we need to know in order to live godly, righteous lives. In 2 Peter 1:3 we are told, "as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,." We are also instructed through His word, in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 that, "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, v17) that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."  However, the Lord God, our Father, isn't really seeking workers, although we are workers in Christ, but, rather, He is seeking worshipers. John 4:23, "But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him." With that being said crystal clear, He KNOWS that if He were to make His will more explicit for our specific decisions, more often, we'd likely tend to focus more on what we DO rather than what we LOVE. Just like the Pharisees, we'd tend to focus more on our actions rather than our affections. There is a big difference.

If we love Jesus, then we will love the things that He loves. We will desire to be more like Him and will see an increase in loving what He loves, and will be transformed by a renewed mind! And through our love for Him and His kingdom, it is then that it will be revealed in the pattern of small and large decisions that we make. In decisions that require our discernment, it is where the wheat is distinguished from the tares. In those times of uncertainty, when we really aren't quite sure, we end up making decisions based on what we really love. If we really love the world deep down inside, this will become apparent, and be fully revealed, in the patterns of decision-making that we make over time, because we will conform to this world.

In Genesis 12:1, the Lord tells Abram (later to be called Abraham), "Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you." See, God didn’t give Abram (Abraham) a detailed, laid out map of instructions for him to follow, nor did He even show him the exact final destination. He just basically said, "Abram, leave your comfort zone and go where I will show you. Go where and when I tell you." Even though God basically told him that, God also added that He would bless Abram and his descendants IF Abram obeyed him. Obeying God's voice is important, the most important ingredient to finding and fulfilling His will, but FIRST, one must be able to HEAR His voice in order to discern. Abram didn’t quite know where he would end up, or how he would get there, but he knew God's character and implicitly trusted God, so he obeyed anyway. Abram’s obedience developed one step at a time, one situation at a time. And with each step, Abram heard a little bit more from God each step of the way.  This was what I felt God required of me as well a few years ago when I lost my job, when my contract job was completed and I was without income, resources and I didn't know exactly where God was taking me next, where He would lead me next, or if He was going to change my career path and lead me into something altogether new. But I totally trusted that it would be a good place, a place of blessing, a place of purpose and a place of peacefulness in spirit. Each day, I'd be doing my due diligence by doing what I knew to do within each given day. I’d diligently look for work, applying to jobs, and networking. I also took advantage of the time that in many ways He allotted me in order to learn a few new skills, brush up on the old tried and true ones while also consistently working on my blog for His kingdom! All the while, I remembered what a great God He is and that is a good God who loves to give good gifts to His children. A job is good gift and I KNEW if it came from Him, directed by His hands, then it was where I would flourish in some way, and it would be a good gift that I would be thankful for daily! Each day that I traveled down the path of the unknown, I felt like I was getting a little closer to knowing WHERE He was taking me next. And THAT brought me such great peace even in the unknown.

I could relate to Abram in his journey. Although mine was different and on a different level, nonetheless, I could relate to the lessons learned as I walked through my journey. And I'm still walking through my journey because although He led me to the job that He prepared for me, I still am not clear on the direction that He wants me to take NOW. Beyond a shadow of a doubt, I knew, I REALLY KNEW CLEARLY, that this was the job the Lord placed me in. Some of the reasons were already answered but more questions I've sought that I know the answers will be revealed at a later time. Some of the lessons that I learned during that long dry spell of unemployment were difficult, but I learned in a new way. Let's take a look at a few of them now.

1) Learning to Step Out of My comfort Zone! God wanted me to continually, without fear, step out of my comfort zone and TRUST Him with all of the unknowns, and as always, there are and were, many! If God showed me a step-by-step, exact will for my life, then it wouldn’t require any faith from me to follow Him. So in essence, I HAD to leave room for Him to guide me, to hear His voice and to obey His divine appointment! Had I known exactly where I was going beforehand, it likely WASN'T from God in the first place, but rather from my own desires, ideals and thoughts! See God wants us to follow Him in TRUST AND FAITH, and NOT in knowing. Knowing doesn't really require faith and trust, now does it? By stepping out of MY comfort zone as I had to do during the longest stint of unemployment that I've ever experienced, freed me up from getting stuck in my own ideas, which can ultimately lead me astray of God's will. Our ideas can be so seriously flawed, no matter how much we justify them! They also can be extremely limiting because we can only see the here and now and even that is flawed because WE are flawed. Our hearts are flawed. God, on the other hand, sees EVERYTHING, past, present and the future, and  because He also knows our hearts, thoughts and minds, He knows exactly how to deal with each of us. His will takes all of us into consideration. By stepping out of my comfort zone as I did then, and have many times before, it helps me to look back to those times when I obeyed and it gives me great confidence to do it again.

2) Learning to Take One Step at a Time! This is another one of the reasons that I believe God doesn't want us, and myself included, to know too much too soon. It simply can be quite overwhelming knowing too quickly, and too much, because we might just give up, and give in, because it will appear to be too hard. For me, the not knowing "how" I would end up, as opposed to the "where," would, and could, cause me much anxiety and strife and stress that I didn't need in my life. Having worried thoughts consuming me is NOT conducive to my walk with the Lord! Those types of thoughts drown out, not only His voice, but it can ultimately make me miss His directions. I've learned this a long time ago and although I struggle with this from time to time, it usually doesn't last more than a day or so, depending on the situation at hand. Learning to take one step at a time, obeying whatever it is that He is wanting me to do at that stage, totally takes the pressure off of us and in doing so, frees us up to put more faith and trust in the Lord and less focus on "me." When we're under a great amount of stress, none of us can do their best work. God doesn’t, and WON'T, ask us to take a GIANT step that's ten miles up the road. That would be impossible to do. However, everyone can take just one step at a time.

3) Learning That God is With Me as I Go! During that tumultuous time in my life, everything was unraveling! My home needed repairs, my car needed repairs, my plumbing needed attention, I had one thing after another happen to me during that time of wilderness! In another post, I mentioned a lot of them here and there were many, many more that I didn't mention. During that entire time, when I didn't think I could take another breath because it never ceased, I knew that the Lord was with me during every moment! Just as Abram was able to trust God fully in his not knowing because he believed that God was with him, so too can I! Matthew 28:20 reassures us all of this, "teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen." To the end of the age! That means every, single moment and second that I'm alive! God promises to be with us, to never leave us or forsake us! And this means through our decision-making as well. But it's important to know that He IS with you as you go on this journey that He has led you on. I can't tell you how many times I've been comforted by knowing that no matter how hard the journey got, or will get, and no matter how dark the night may seem, His Light, His direction and His love was always with me! Every step of the way.

4) Learning That Action Lessens Worry! So let's just get this out into the open right here and now. I analyze everything, sometimes to death! Oh, yes, I'm an over-analyzer that sometimes even causes me to be paralyzed. Not literally, but figuratively speaking. It's usually when I'm idle, when I'm not doing anything to take my "focus" off of whatever I'm facing at hand. It rears its ugly head and then BAM! I'm off into "worry" land! God has worked on my "analytical" trait and I've gotten better. I still struggle because it's part of my make-up and personality. For many years, I couldn't understand why I'd be "designed" this way, but, ironically, it's a trait that made me rely on Him a lot more and it's a compliment to my spiritual gift. So, taking action, being pro-active, definitely takes some tension away and off of us and slowly erases much of the associated worries because the actual act of doing something, anything related to what you're trying to accomplish, takes on a life of its own. We need to concentrate on the task at hand and NOT the results, because they will arrive when they will. So, by taking actions regularly, and being pro-active, becomes a way of living in the moment, it becomes a way of life and oftentimes, it will erase some of the fears of the future and the regrets of the past.

Firm Steps by the Lord
Psalm 37:23, "The steps of a good man are established by the Lord, and he delights in his way." In this verse, the key word is "and" because it connects "delights" with everything else! Delights is also mentioned in Psalm 37:4, "Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart." We need to do a quick internal inventory to reveal if there is a distinct absence of "delight" in our hearts. But what does that have to do with our decisions that we must make? God actually command us to "delight" in Him and I don't know about you, but I've been hardheaded and stubborn in my lifetime and "delight" was a missing ingredient! I had to ask myself some years ago while going through some very dark times, difficult and lonely times, "Do my desires in this decision totally line up with God's desires and His will? Do I love what God loves?" It was at that point that I realized that I was expecting God to always give me what I wanted. I had it backwards all along! Amazing how God shows us when we're wrong and lovingly allows us to travel down that path to LEARN the right way! I love Jesus! I was seeing Him as a solution to my problems. And although He DOES give us solutions and fixes our problems, that ISN'T just who He is! And it's NOT all He does! In my decisions back then, I'm ashamed to admit that I was expecting an ANSWER! It's what I wanted. But it definitely wasn't what I needed and guess who won!? Well, it's obviously not me because I'm sitting here writing about it. My thoughts were consumed with me-centered thoughts like, "How will this affect me? What will happen to me? What if I'm not able to do this? What if I fail? Where should I go? Will I be OK? How can I make it?" It was nothing more than a me-driven decision making process that I got into and boy is that a vicious cycle! See, I learned early on that the major decisions in my life can't center around ME and how I FEEL. Feelings are so fleeting and unstable, because they are changing all the time! I didn't want to treat God like a Magic 8 Ball from my youth any longer, and I desired and longed to serve Him and love Him.

I bring up Psalm 37 because it's a powerful prayer from David, a man who knows God deeply and loves God deeply. David also said in Psalm 63:1, "O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water." David had a very deep relationship with God and because of this strong bond, it leads him to into God-driven decision making. His concern became, "How can I bring glory to God with this decision? How can I advance God's kingdom through this decision?" His was a God-driven life. Not a "me-driven" destination. David is a perfect example for all of us who struggle, or struggled, with this decision-making process. David's example means that the most important factor in every, single decision that I make, is NOT how I FEEL about it, what I WANT or even what it will mean for my future, but whether it will please God. And whether it will bring glory to Him and His kingdom. As a Christian, my priorities have been dramatically changed by the Cross of Christ. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, "Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? v20) For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." As you see, we are not our own and we have been bought at a price....His death on the Cross! There was a time in my life, years ago, when I lived to gratify, satisfy and justify myself. I now live to please my Redeemer because it's with Him that I will share eternity with while this life? It will pass away because it's temporary. What matters to me now, more than ever, is to please my Lord.

In my life today, what ultimately matters is NOT what job I'll get, if I'll make enough money, where I'll live, or if I'll pursue the right dreams. Those things are all important in the whole of things, but they don't drive me. They don't rule me. They don't occupy my thoughts as they once did. What DOES ultimately matter is pleasing the God who saved me, who redeemed me, who created me, who designed me. All of my desires, plans and hopes and dreams MUST be shaped by the God that created and saved me. Here's an excerpt from a commentary that Charles Spurgeon wrote on the Psalms:

"Men who delight in God desire or ask for nothing but what will please God; hence it is safe to give them carte blanche. Their will is subdued to God's will, and now they may have what they will."

We need to realize that our time spent in Scripture isn't always about finding an "answer." I've known, and know a few today, that only search the word for an "answer" to some dilemma, situation, desire or whatever it is for the moment. Yes, it's full of answers, but instructional answers. Our primary reason for reading and studying the Scriptures should be about our desire to communicate with the Lord God! Once we spend less time in the Word while going through a major decision-making process, less time praying and less time delighting in God, we lose direction and sight and falter. We begin to spend more and more time in our own thoughts, our own selfish thoughts. And that's a HUGE problem, because we must remember that we're still sinners and our hearts are deceitful above all things, stated clearly in Jeremiah 17:9, "The heart is deceitful above all things,And desperately wicked; Who can know it?" So in essence, if we really want to know what God's will is for our lives, we need to get close to Him in order to know what He loves, hates and desires. He doesn't have to show us everything, nor does He have to tell us everything either. We're called to know and pursue God passionately until His desires become our desires, until His loves becomes our loves, until His hatred becomes our hatred. We should WANT to desire what He desires. And as we do, we'll begin to see ever more CLEARLY the steps that He has established for each of us.

Because I'm analytical by nature, when I'd make a mind-bending decision, my thoughts would be a bunch of swirling bits of confusion, doubts and chaos. I'd eventually become a frustrated, agitated bundle of anxious nerves on way too much tea. But in Psalm 37, David paints a drastically different picture of someone seeking God: In verse 31, it says, "The law of God is in his heart; his steps do not slip." The thoughts of the righteous man typically don't keep shifting back and forth the way mine used to do. They're steady thoughts. Unwavering thoughts because the Truth is known. They're thoughts grounded in God's Word. And when we're tempted to question God's goodness, or His character, or even His commandments (for example, "Did God REALLY say?"), God's Word will ALWAYS remind us of the truth about God, about ourselves and about this sinful, fallen world. Do your steps often slip when you make decisions because you tend to ignore the clear direction found in His Word? If so, you aren't alone. The good news is that decision-making doesn't have to be overly complicated. There are TWO things to look for when searching the Scriptures to help in making decisions: 1) Look for what the Scriptures specifically tells us, commands us, to do and 2) Look for what the Scriptures specifically tells us, commands us, NOT to do. God made this simple. WE make it difficult!

As I WAIT
Let's say, for example, you're trying to decide whether or not to take a new job. One question could be answered by going to Scriptures like 1 Timothy 6 calling the love of money a "root of all kinds of evil" reminding us that "it is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith" and telling us to "flee these things." In light of that verse, one question might be, "Am I taking this job out of greed and a sinful desire for wealth?" Scripture encourages us and necessitates involvement in church for a Christian, Ephesians is a good place to read up on that! So another question that you could ask is, "Will this decision allow me to continue my involvement in my church OR take me away from it?" The best thing I can do, and you can do, when making decisions is to ground my (our) thoughts in God's Word. And so what if we're seeking His word but the answer isn't really clear? What then? If you're a horribly indecisive person, the likely root to that is fear. Plain and simple. Fear. Oh this is something I knew all too well years back when the Lord was beginning to work on my analytical ways! I realized there was an element of fear lurking behind the shadows that would rear its ugly head right in the middle of a decision! I'd be afraid that, as a direct result of my decision, something would go horribly wrong and my life would end up in total shambles and disarray. I'd be afraid that after one wrong move my entire life would snowball into a series of unfortunate events, and misadventures. I might add for flavor here, that my fears were sometimes slightly, or more, IRRATIONAL! David says, in Psalm 37:7, "Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass." Yes, indeed! David spoke to me with those words! This isn't a passive waiting. It's active! It's an ACTION of waiting and since it's an action, it's something we must continue in....doing! Derek Kidner's commentary on the Psalms points out that David actively redirects his emotions ("delight yourself in the Lord," v4), actively entrusts his life ("commit your way," v5) and reputation ("He will bring forth your righteousness," v6) to God.

So if we don't trust God while making a decision, then our decisions will often be made out of fear or a desire to control our own life or some other sinful cravings. And it's only when we're fulling trusting God that we pursue God, love His Word, love what He loves, hate what He hates, desire what He desires and be able to think clearly. This can make a difference, a clear, precise difference, between being able to change your decisions from being the things YOU decided and THEN asked God about later, into the things that are driven by God's desires for you and your life! When making decisions, you really should often do MORE than what I've described above (seek God, search Scripture, trust God), but NEVER less than those things. Sometimes, and some people more than others depending on many factors, need the wise counsel from others.  James 1:5, "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." According to James, wisdom is evidence that Christ is living his life in us. James 3:13, "Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom." The New Testament speaks far more about wisdom than it does about finding God's specific will about the details of our lives. Scripture teaches us that God's guidance comes through the development of wisdom, which is a long process of spiritual growth God produces in us, that doesn't happen overnight. Wisdom, good sense and sound judgment, is given to us as a result of our close relationship with God. Proverbs 2:1-11 advises, in its entirety,
"My son, if you receive my words,
And treasure my commands within you,
2) So that you incline your ear to wisdom,
And apply your heart to understanding;
3) Yes, if you cry out for discernment,
And lift up your voice for understanding,
4) If you seek her as silver,
And search for her as for hidden treasures;
5) Then you will understand the fear of the Lord,
And find the knowledge of God.
6) For the Lord gives wisdom;
From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;
7) He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
He is a shield to those who walk uprightly;
8) He guards the paths of justice,
And preserves the way of His saints.
9) Then you will understand righteousness and justice,
Equity and every good path.
10) When wisdom enters your heart,
And knowledge is pleasant to your soul,
11) Discretion will preserve you;
Understanding will keep you,

If we're serious about following God's will, we have to recognize that it's not about getting what we want, but doing what God asks. Obedience is key and top priority! God may call us, and lead us, to do things that don't necessarily feel natural to us at first. It may feel uncomfortable and even ill-equipped. But as we listen closely and respond to the call of God, we soon get connected to our deeper desires. After all, the very things God calls us to do are the things that he created us to do! In some areas of our lives, it's clear when there are right decisions and wrong decisions, like, for example, whether to choose to give back change that the cashier mistakenly gave you or keep it. Pretty clear what the RIGHT decision is. Then in other areas of our lives, we are faced with making choices between two good things, using jobs as another example, let's say you were offered two great opportunities. This isn't a choice that's necessarily good or bad, right or wrong, but more to do with the gray area. These are opportunities given to us to practice wisdom. For example, spending a lot of time talking on the phone, using the multitudes of social media sites or texting friends may be a good thing to a certain degree if used with discretion. However, if there's never any time when you're just quiet and still, it can be harder, or even quite possibly IMPOSSIBLE, for you to be aware of God's presence and His voice. "Noise" takes shape in many different ways and drowns out the very thing we are desiring to hear. So, being wise could mean turning the phone off from time to time to quiet your heart, to still your spirit, so you can be more attentive to the presence of God in everyday life.

We need to think clearly, We need to weigh practical concerns. We need to be patiently waiting. We need to Trust and have Faith. We need to obey.

But more than anything else WE NEED JESUS. We need to seek Him, trust HIM and spend time in His Word. We need to talk to Him, build a relationship with Him and seek His face. And when God doesn't give us specifics in His plans and His will for us, we need to trust Him implicitly and have an undying Faith....He's in control. We don't need all the details....we need Jesus!

  1. Thank you so much for this!!!!! I am currently waiting on God but learning Indhould be wiating with God. This season has been so uncomfortable and so hard. I am use to doing things in my own strength and God has been teaching me to trust Him. I also want to note that I was just telling my sisters in Christ that when or before you become saved you learn right from wrong but after getting saved you have to now learn what is of God and what is just good. Thank you for this article; I was feeling discouraged but God had me research what if God doesnt give you all the details and your article popped up.

    1. Hi Tan! Thank you so much for stopping by and for the kind words! We all have to learn this lesson the hard way in waiting on the Lord and surrendering our strength and will unto God. We can't do things in our own strength and surrendering to Him takes a lot of trust but it's so worth it! The season you may be in at the moment may be uncomfortable but that's actually a good thing as when we are uncomfortable, we know we are being cleansed, sharpened, convicted to be more Christ like! It's the Love of our Father in Heaven drawing you closer. This article was a hard article for me to write as well because we all want to know the "details" but some things just aren't meant for us to know because by not knowing, we must build trust and have Faith in Jesus alone! I am so blessed to know you were led to this posting by the Divine hand of our Lord! Nothing is by accident! Continue in your faith and when it gets truly hard, turn to Him, seek His face and He will draw you near! You will continue to learn what is of God and what isn't as long as you know the Truth and ask for His wisdom to be revealed to you! May God Bless you in His Perfect Will!
