The Dr. Oz Show and Angels

Hello my brothers and sisters in Christ! Today, I'm going to make this entry just a little different than I would otherwise normally do because of something I watched out of curiosity and was profoundly disturbed by! Which led me ultimately to being inspired to write this. Coincidence? No. I don't believe there are any coincidences in the children of God....

So let me begin by opening this with a verse from the Word of God.

Colossians 2:18-19, "Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, v19) and not holding fast to the Head, from whom all the body, nourished and knit together by joints and ligaments, grows with the increase that is from God."

Do NOT Worship Angels!

I chose this verse specifically because of what I'm about to talk about and it will blend in nicely as I delve in a little deeper. I recently started a new job and have had a terrible time getting there regularly due to the inclement weather. This past week was no different. I was coming home from work on Wednesday and the ice/sleet was beginning to fall heavily and what would follow would turn out to amount to 25" of snow!!! Needless to say, I was snowed in and back in the neighborhood where I live, is surrounded with all hills.....going UP to the main roads and coming DOWN to the my home. I settled in nicely because as I watched the snow falling rapidly, I knew it was going to be a good few days before I'd be able to get out of my driveway much less my neighborhood. So on day two, which was Friday, I saw a preview for the Dr. Oz show talking about angels. Now, just to put it out there first and foremost, Dr. Oz is into the New Age/Eastern religion belief system, to include the "Chakra" and meditation. A very dangerous "spiritual" promotion that he is involved in and might I add here that he came on the scene through the leader of the "pack" herself, Oprah Winfrey. He's one of her finds, as is Dr. Phil. Anyway, I don't watch him, and I don't promote him but because of the subject, I wanted to see what was going to be said and promoted because I do know in the last few years, he's gotten a much BIGGER following and those who are following him and his "medicine" are very impressionable and can be swayed easily.

So I spent one hour of my day watching this travesty. The guest he had on was someone by the name of Gabrielle Bernstein, who upon further investigation into her background, revealed yet another connection to the Oprah, Rob Bell and Deepak Chopra circle. In fact, before I get into the show, the following was taken directly from a promotional "tour" write up that I found very interesting. "New Age guru Deepak Chopra is kicking off what he calls “the world’s largest syncretized meditation” in history, which will attempt to hail in a massive tipping point toward a global shift to peace. The Chopra Center is teaching newbies how to meditate, and it’s NOT on God’s Word. Chopra is encouraging people to join in and perhaps even get into the Guiness Book of World Records – or at the very least usher in a more just, peaceful, healthier, more sustainable and happier world. The name of this event: Seduction of Spirit. I kid you not. It’s part of a week-long retreat in which Deepak, Gabrielle Bernstein, and others will guide participants through reflective workshops, yoga practices, and guided meditations dedicated to increasing global consciousness and connection, and helping attendees build their personal practice and find inner peace. The retreat will be held in Toronto and the meditation part will be simulcast over the internet around the world." Ok, as we can see in these words alone, this is a "movement" and don't be misguided about this! It is NOT biblical! The person who wrote this is a Christian who stands up for the truth and as you can see, it states it is NOT on God's Word! Gabrielle is included.

Dr. Oz gave that all knowing grin of his as he began to talk about the upcoming "testimonies" of a few people who have experienced angels. If you've ever watched him at all, you'll know the grin I'm speaking about. He kept saying "as a doctor" this "spiritual" connection fascinates him. Or things to that nature. I listened very carefully to each word that was spoken, NONE of which spoke of God the Father NOR Jesus Christ! If someone doesn't speak the name of Jesus Christ in one form or another when "promoting" things in the spiritual realm, it's highly likely it's demonic! Just to put that out there! This was definitely demonic. It was beginning to unnerve me to say the least. They gave their testimonies and one in particular was about a friendship that made a "pact" between the two. The one lady was an author and a "believer in the after life" as it was put, and had terminal cancer. The friend was agnostic. They knew she was going to die and the agnostic said they made a pact that whoever would pass away first, and get to the "other side" would send a "sign" to the other one that there IS an afterlife. Oh, being a Christ believing Christian, I about jumped out of my seat!!! Anyway, their "code words" were Scarlet for the cancer patient if she passed away and someone else from the movie "Gone with the Wind" for the agnostic. You guessed it. The lady with cancer passed away. Three years later, the agnostic received a "sign" and the name "Scarlet" showed up. The agnostic never once said she became a Christian or believed in God or Jesus, but she DID say she believes in angels now. This was not a heavenly angel she thinks she encountered. This was a demon. ALL of her words and descriptions of the incident pointed very clearly to what this "entity" really was. Be careful of these misconceptions.

Then Gabrielle comes on for the "interview" part and what I heard coming from her was purely Satanic and pushing it upon millions of viewers, making it appear "fun, entertaining and spiritual guidance" and in no way, shape or form is this to be any of it! She was using all the New Age lingo, all the right phrases to "sound" spiritual but no claims to Jesus Christ. She used all the right words to make it appeal to those who were seeking but weren't finding and the more she spoke, the worse it got. For ME, I'm well versed in these sleight of hand manipulations in words, by the grace of God giving me that ability, but to the many more out there who aren't, well, that's why I'm writing this. She spoke about how one is to call upon their "angels" to guide them, to lead them and to connect with them. She said A LOT of things that I won't repeat just because I won't give the devil his due, but know that she said everything with a smile and all of it was demonic! She advised how to do this and why it's important to "connect" with one's angels. She talked about how they are "spiritual guides." Now with that being said, and with a smile a big as Texas, I want to make it clear that a "spirit guide" is a DEMON! So, you see how slick and slippery the slope really is! DANGER! The camera kept panning to Dr. Oz and his grin was actually quite disturbing to me. It was almost diabolical. My observation only. My spirit was not at peace and I knew this whole show was going to misguide and mislead many! And THEN the unbelievable happened right on national television!!! Dr. Oz mentioned there was an "exercise" that Gabrielle has for the audience to get in touch with their angels that she uses with all of her people that she speaks to. Before the exercise, she spoke about "free writing." This term is another term for "automatic writing" to make it sound less intrusive. "Automatic writing" is where a demon takes over and writes for you, using your hand and body as a vehicle. YES! That's what I said because that's what it IS! Free writing is a "tamer" term used to fool more people because as more people begin to become wise to one term, Satan comes in and switches up the term by softening it. Even she said that there are times that she begins to write and before she knows it, she doesn't even know she wrote something because she gets "lost" in it, like she "zones" out. Well, of course she doesn't know, and zones out, because a demon takes over! Just like the author of the Twilight series!

Now the audience was given a pad and pen I guess sometime during the show and they were asked to take it out for this exercise. She gave instructions on what to start with at the top and what to do next in the steps to follow. Not ONE questioned this technique and not ONE was without a pad and pen. Everyone was writing and following this blindly! Opening demonic portals to places they are going to wish they never opened! Why, with Dr. Oz and Gabrielle full of smiles and encouragement, why wouldn't they follow blindly like sheep to the slaughter! And that's exactly what this is! Sheep being led blindly to their slaughter! She said not to be "intimidated" and the more one does it and "practices" it, the more the angels will show themselves to them AND BE PLAYFUL ABOUT IT! NOWHERE in the bible does it EVER say an angel is playful with US! EVER! So another "friendly" word to make this appear harmless. Kind of like, oh, say, Casper the Friendly Ghost. A ghost is NOT friendly and the "angels" this Gabrielle is speaking and promoting is NOT heavenly angels! I won't give her much room here but in all the words she kept saying or eluding to, the one she would constantly say was "spiritual guide." And to reiterate what I said above, a "spirit guide" is a DEMON! It's NOT a heavenly angel. It's NOT a "friendly" entity. And the camera pans to Dr. Oz and his diabolical smile is coupled now with darkened eyes. Time for me to turn off this show before it ends.....I caught myself saying aloud, alone in my living room, "NO! It's NOT spiritual. It's DEMONIC!" I call it as I see it! But the one thing I was "seeing" is the many millions who were going to watch this and believe this. These people were KNOWINGLY planting seeds of interest and curiosity in millions without blinking an eye. I fear for the souls of those who will begin to seek out these "guides" and who will be curious enough to look into performing a ritualistic "exercise" to connect more "deeply" with these entities! The responsibility of the media, of Hollywood "guru's" and the entertainment industry in general, is substandard and non-existent because they are working for the elite. And their "god" or "gods" are NOT God the Father, our Creator, nor is Jesus Christ ever uttered among them....THAT says alot.

God's Orders!

I wrote about angels in an earlier post and it can be found here for those of you who would like to read a little more about them. If you're familiar with this site, you already know I've written alot about the spiritual realm in general, a few articles on demons and the evil side, and in the near future, I will be writing a little more about heavenly angels and what the bible says about them. A little more in depth. For those of you who are new to my site, I encourage you to read a little more of the articles on my blog if you feel led. These days are important and knowing the TRUTH is extremely imperative for the survival of your soul and eternal spirit! With that said, angels are NOT to be summoned for our purpose nor are they to be worshiped. Only God can order them to do His bidding. They are subject to the commands of God alone, NOT man. They are the creatures of our Creator for His purpose. He has created them to minister to us, give us instruction, to comfort us and protect His saints. I'll touch on some of the tasks that the heavenly angels are commissioned to do with a short explanation to follow just so everyone can see what God says about this and to clarify their purposes. So all throughout Scripture and in the references to follow, the tasks of angels are ALL designed to serve God....NOT MAN! Let's begin by listing some of those tasks.....

1) First and foremost is Worship and praise! These are the two main activities that are portrayed in heaven. Isaiah 6:1-3, "In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. 2 Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one cried to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!” And also you will find an amazing description of this in Revelation Chapters 4-5.
2) They Provide and Minister - God used His angels to provide physical needs like food for Hagar in Genesis 21:17-20, "And God heard the voice of the lad. Then the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said to her, “What ails you, Hagar? Fear not, for God has heard the voice of the lad where he is. v18) Arise, lift up the lad and hold him with your hand, for I will make him a great nation.” v19) Then God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. And she went and filled the skin with water, and gave the lad a drink. 20 So God was with the lad; and he grew and dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer."  Elijah in 1 Kings 19:6, "Then he looked, and there by his head was a cake baked on coals, and a jar of water. So he ate and drank, and lay down again." and for Christ after His temptation He was ministered to in Matthew 4:11, "Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him."
3) Delivering out of Trouble - They are used in getting God’s people out of danger once they’re in it. Angels released the apostles from prison in Acts 5, and repeated the process for Peter in Acts 12.
4) Protection - They are also used in helping to keep God’s people/children out of physical danger. As it was in the cases of Daniel and the lions, and his three friends in the fiery furnace found in Daniel 3 and 6.
5) Strength and Encouragement - Angels strengthened Jesus after His temptation as mentioned above as part of the ministering of Jesus in Matt 4:11, they encouraged the apostles to keep preaching after releasing them from prison in Acts 5:19-20, "But at night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and brought them out, and said, v20) “Go, stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this life.” and then told Paul that everyone on his ship would survive the impending shipwreck found in Acts 27:23-25, "For there stood by me this night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve, v24) saying, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul; you must be brought before Caesar; and indeed God has granted you all those who sail with you.’ v25) Therefore take heart, men, for I believe God that it will be just as it was told me."
6) Messengers - They serve as messengers in order to communicate God’s will to men. They helped in revealing the law to Moses in Acts 7:52-53, "Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who foretold the coming of the Just One, of whom you now have become the betrayers and murderers, v53) who have received the law by the direction of angels and have not kept it.” They also served as the carriers of the majority of the material in Daniel, and Revelation.
7) The Answering of prayer - God also uses angels as His ways of answering the prayers of His children. This can be found in Daniel 9:20-24, "Now while I was speaking, praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy mountain of my God, v21) yes, while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, reached me about the time of the evening offering. v22) And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, “O Daniel, I have now come forth to give you skill to understand. v23) At the beginning of your supplications the command went out, and I have come to tell you, for you are greatly beloved; therefore consider the matter, and understand the vision: 24 “Seventy weeks are determined For your people and for your holy city, To finish the transgression,
To make an end of[ sins, To make reconciliation for iniquity, To bring in everlasting righteousness, To seal up vision and prophecy, And to anoint the Most Holy." Also in Daniel 10:10-12 and again in  Acts 12:1-17.
8) Caring for believers at the moment of death - They are used to escort the spirit to heaven as it was done to Lazarus upon his death. We are told that angels carried the spirit of Lazarus to “Abraham’s bosom” when he died. Luke 16:22, "So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried."
9) Executioners - Angels are even sometimes used by God in order to punish sin. In 2 Kings 19:20-34, an angel of the Lord went forward and smote an entire Assyrian camp. "behold, they were all dead corpses." The Assyrian army was completely annihilated. At one point, a destroying angel was sent out to punish David for his vanity in taking a census of the great number of his people but was later withheld. Also during the time of Moses and the Exodus, the Egyptian firstborns were killed by an angel of death.

Nowhere does it say we are to call on them, worship them, depend upon them or use them as a "replacement" for our Lord and Savior. That is exactly what Gabrielle was insinuating by using her "words" of deceit. She may truly believe this and I've no doubt she does believe this whole mess, but what I'm saying is to be careful, VERY careful, of what you choose to believe! She was putting more emphasis on believing in and on angels without a single word about the very one who CREATED them! We are not to worship them....and in this instance, the "angels" that are being called upon are demons. Know the difference because Satan is slick and sly! Many people believe, or tend to believe, that all angels are good and light. They AREN'T! Don't fall victim to that belief! The Bible classifies some angels as "elect" as is the case in 1 Timothy 5:21, "I charge you before God and the Lord Jesus Christ and the elect angels that you observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing with partiality." In Matthew 25:31, they are classified as "holy." "When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory." In Mark 8:38, it says, "For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels." Further study of Scriptures, you will find that all angels were originally holy, fully enjoying the presence of God and the fullness of heaven. Matthew 18:10, "Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven." Then in Mark 13:32, we see, "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father"

Other angels directly oppose, and rebel against God under the leadership and authority of Satan himself. These are what we call "demons." Familiar spirits, demonic spirits, evil spirits. They are all demons. Matthew 25:41, "Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:" In 2 Peter 2:4, "For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment;" Then again in Jude 6, "And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day;" Ephesians 6:12 says this, "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." Spiritual hosts are demons. The Lord God warns us all through Scriptures about this and about how to avoid falling victim to what is clearly happening in our world today! There is a massive push towards the New Age/Eastern religions and practices which are all demonic. Satan keeps finding his "people" to push this non-sense on the population of the unsuspecting and now it's going even further mainstream than ever before. As long as there are willing participants or those who just don't take time to know what the truth is, there will always be this kind of evil that permeates through the entire world. Yoga, contemplative prayer/spirituality, New Age practices, meditation, all-ways-lead to "god" mentality, chakra, auras, and ALL of that idol worship, me-centered beliefs are all of the devil himself!

As I watched this show in horror, I really got angry with righteous indignation because these people know exactly what they're pushing. They know exactly WHO they are serving and WHO their "god" is too! They aren't innocently promoting something, they are PURPOSEFULLY promoting this "demon" spirituality. I watched this with sadness because so many are being led to the slaughter, unknowingly in some cases, and are being pulled into a darkened pit. There is actually a great unseen conflict, unseen spiritual battle raging that goes beyond anything that any of us can imagine. However, it is NOT a fight or battle between two equal and eternal forces. God is totally in charge until the very end, the very one who created ALL beings! Once He has used wicked angels to accomplish His purposes, He will bring them to a final defeat, and they will be in their final destination of eternal Hell! Fallen angels are those angels who have rebelled against God along with Lucifer, an archangel who became the devil. Take a look at these following verses found in His Holy Word! Some I've already quoted but are worth repeating below!

Rev. 12:3-4, "And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. v4) His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born."

2 Peter 2:4, "For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment;"

Matthew 25:41, "Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:"

Rev. 12:9, "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, who deceives the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him." 

Isaiah 14:12-14, "How you have fallen from heaven, O star of the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, You who have weakened the nations! 13"But you said in your heart, 'I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, And I will sit on the mount of assembly In the recesses of the north. 14 'I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High."

Jesus cast out demons with a word of authority, not a ritual. Most of what the New Age/Eastern religions teach or practice is a ritualistic covenant. It's because Jesus Christ has supreme power, the demons always obeyed His commands. They had to actually because He is in control of even them! As fallen angels, the demons also knew Jesus' true identity as that of the Son of God even before the rest of the world. They were frightfully afraid of Him and His power and authority! I'd say the most dramatic encounter Jesus had with demons was when He cast the multiple unclean spirits out of the possessed man and the demons asked Jesus to let them inhabit a nearby herd of pigs: Well He gave them permission, so the evil spirits, or demons, came out of the man and went into the pigs. The herd, about two thousand in number, rushed down the steep bank into the lake and were drowned. Remember that demons will oftentimes disguise themselves in many different forms and shapes and "masks", which is why God forbids participation in the occult, seances, Ouija boards, spiritualists, witchcraft, channeling, or the dabbling in spirit world. Deuteronomy 18:10-12 tells us clearly, "There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, 11 or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead." Automatic writing, or free writing, falls into this category!

Satan and demons cannot possess a Christian. Romans 8:38-39, "For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." They can attack us, harass us, torment us and bother us. But a true, Christ believer, born again Christian, is indwelt by the Holy Spirit upon conversion. 1 Corinthians 3:16, "Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?" Demons won't, and aren't allowed to, occupy the same space as the Holy Spirit! The Holy Spirit resides inside of true believers. The attacks and harassment of Satan and his demons may feel or even appear as though one is possessed, but that isn't true. Some Christians are tormented and harassed and attacked more fiercely than others. However, unbelievers are not under the same divine protection. That is why this promotion and pushing and injecting of the New Age/Eastern religion evil is so disheartening because those that aren't believers can really be harassed in ways they aren't able to handle without the blood of Jesus Christ covering them! Protecting them. SAVING THEM! I will give a word of caution here.....please stay clear of any of this stuff! Please KNOW what you are following, watching, "exercising" doing, listening to or contemplating. There are many many dangers lurking around each corner and we all need to be a little more discerning, a little more wise and definitely a LOT more educated about these things.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the ONLY way, the TRUTH and the LIFE! He is the ONLY way to the Father God! He doesn't want anyone to perish but have everlasting life! No matter what you've done, what you may have dabbled in, what you've thought, or what you've said.....His arms are opened WIDE waiting for you to call upon His name! He wants to secure your place in His kingdom where you will find an eternal, loving, peaceful home! Don't put it off! Come today! Admit you are a sinner, repent of your sins, ask the Lord for His forgiveness and receive Him fully into your heart and life! Believe that He was born of a virgin, died and rose three days later on a cross to pay your sin debt in full! Allow Him to transform your life forever more! AMEN!
