Halloween and the Battle with the Devil

1 Corinthians 10:21, "You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord’s table and of the table of demons."

Ephesians 5:11, "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them."

As many of you know who have been with this blog for awhile, this month, and time of year, is a very spiritually concerning time for me. I've been very sensitive to the darkness that surrounds this "holiday" we all know as Halloween and each year, it grows darker and more evil. This year is no different! It's been awhile since I've written about the dangers of Halloween, or the "supposed" Christian "alternative" to this horrific celebration that churches everywhere participate in and due to the intensity of this past year, I felt a need, a deep need, to expound on it and give a dire warning to every eye who is reading this not to participate in this Satanic holiday nor to allow your children to partake as well. I couldn't be any more serious than I am right now! Everyone has a choice. I respect that and I won't tell you what to choose, but what I WILL do, as a Christian and bible believer in every inerrant word breathed from God Himself, is inform you of the dangers, warn you against them and advise each of you to make a wise and informed decision on your own. However, to those Christians among the readers who find this specific holiday nothing more than a day of "dress up" and free candy, I implore you to refrain from worshiping this day of evil and to refrain from celebrating death, destruction, demons and the lies!!! Satan wants nothing more than to see the children of God celebrating the most darkest, evil, occult filled day of Satan. 

Exposing the Works of Satan

I've written a few informative articles that I will link in this paragraph but I am also going to use "specific parts" to copy and paste into this post for informational purposes for those who won't click the links to read them. I highly suggest doing so though because it will be advantageous to all! The more one knows, the less chances there will be to celebrate the darkness! The first one, and the most detailed and by far the most important is called, "Halloween and the Covenant with Death" and can be found here. The second one, and the very basic one, is called "All Hallows Eve - Don't Believe the Lie" and can be found here. Right now, as I'm writing this, there is an overwhelmingly increase of deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons that are, and will continue to, constantly speaking horrific lies while spreading them around like an uncontrollable disease! Please be aware that these very things are permeating our country, our land, our world and our people! Some are a willing participant while others are not paying attention to the subtleties of Satan's deceptive devices and that's exactly what he's counting on! Halloween is a very dangerous, evil, soul-stealing and Satanic "holiday" that is seemingly uncontrolled, unrestrained and untamed! It's during the month of October and the first few days into November that my spirit is extra sensitive to the darkness that surrounds this "celebratory" time of year for the demonic and the deceived and this year is no different! However, what IS different is the intensity of the darkness and evil that my spirit is sensing. There's a much greater sense of the sinister, diabolical, evil and darkness I hadn't felt this deeply before! It's worse than it's every been and although I said the same thing in one of my previous posts, oh how quickly things have changed!

 

"Halloween" is undoubtedly the most evil of the known and celebrated holidays and it's entire roots are grounded firmly, and deeply, in the occult! It's a night the devil has set aside for his workers of iniquity and evil. A night that has been thrust upon our country with the deceptive lie of "fun and games" and dressing up in costumes and masks, begging door to door for candy and treats. While parents all over teach their children NOT to take "candy from strangers," and teaching them the proverbial "stranger danger," the devil is slinking around ensuring even their own deception on this night is done by all the parents PERMITTING their children TO take candy from strangers, and in some ways, they're actually TEACHING them to take candy from strangers! How ironic, don't you think? You can see by that example alone, just how Satan works his lies into the lives of many. You can see just how diabolical his ways truly are and how he aims to confuse. God is not the author of confusion! This is not a night that one should mess around with because it's Satan's day....and night! I know this subject will not bode well with those who mistakenly think there is nothing wrong with Christians "celebrating" Halloween, especially if they don't dress their kids in "evil" costumes. Satan has "fooled" them into thinking it's OK as long as the costumes or masks aren't evil. Wrong. Trust me, I know there are blogs, posts, FB and Twitter  posts that will find its way in SUPPORT of this "holiday," as it always is with our adersary, the devil, he will make sure there's plenty of "opposition" replaced with "support" to go out and have some "fun." He wants you to be able to find to "support", then "justify" your participation. This also won't bode well with unbelievers who mistakenly think there's nothing wrong with this night as well, no matter the costumes. Believers and unbelievers alike will share in this "celebration" together. They won't think anything of it as they peruse the towns, churches or malls begging for candy from strangers dressed up in "costumes and masks" that they unknowingly "believe" are innocent fun. I totally understand. But, whether the costumes are dark and insidious or all fluff and puff, makes absolutely no difference. It's what those costumes REPRESENT and I invite you to do a little homework and research on the origins of the costume before making your way into the night begging for candy, door to door! Read my other article. Let me just say that masks and costumes carry with them a long history in the occult, demon possession and the celebration of death. Masks are contacts to the spirit world to invite the spirit to "possess" the wearers. This is just a hint of what you will find and I assure you, it will be utterly shocking at what you will learn! When the Lord lead me down this path to discover and uncover the origins of this evil night, it horrified me to my core! It effected me immediately because this stuff is REAL. It's dangerous. It's not to be messed with and many, many people, many children get their first "thirst" of the occult from this very night!! Many began their "experimentation" with the dark arts and the occult from their "love" of Halloween. Think about THAT! I knew it was evil. I knew it belonged to Satan. I knew some of the symbolism. I did not know to what depths it went nor did I know how deeply it was soaked in sinister activities. Back in the day, the news would report on "sacrifices" or "altars" found in the woods. Police would report of animals and "human parts" being found during this time of year. It was in the newspapers and on the news. As it became more widely accepted and more people became "numbed" to it, or just flat out thought it was "media sensationalism" well, slowly reporting on the occult activities ceased. Just as the devil would have it! He doesn't want the truth to be revealed....he just wants participants! 

Halloween began well over 2,000 years ago in the British Isles. Here, we find the holiday stripped to its most essential element: a night when Celtic tribes communed with the spirits of the ancestral dead. The first indicator that this holiday is not of the Lord and will NOT please Him, or honor Him, in any way! And goes against His very teachings......1 Thessalonians 5:22 tells us to "Abstain from every form of evil." So, in short, Halloween can be traced directly back to Samhain, the ancient Celtic harvest festival honoring the Lord of the Dead. Before moving on, let me note here, the term "Celtic HARVEST festival." To church goers, this should cause you to shudder. Churches began to "celebrate" Harvest Festival WHILE handing out candy, tracts, etc., for Trunk or Treat. All this is doing is slapping a "Christian" theme or name onto something purely evil and Satanic and is in total opposition to the Lord and His word warning against this very practice! Again, let that sink in! The Druids celebrated two special nights of the year: Beltane and Samhain. Beltane took place on May 1 and marked the birth of summer. Samhain occurred on November 1 and signified the death of summer. Samhain, a night celebrating death and hell, was the Druids most important ritual. It was a terrifying night of human sacrifices. And it was the original Halloween. These grand and glorious pagan celebrations were assimilated by the Catholic church. Rather than extinguish old customs, the church leaders provided Christian versions of them: from the Middles Ages on, All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day replaced the ancient Celtic celebrations of the dead. (Bannatyne, Lesley Pratt, Halloween: An American Holiday, an American History, Facts on File, Inc., New York, 1990 p. x) I find that oddly telling that, even as far back as the Middle Ages, there were "Christian" alternatives. The question on everyone's mind should be WHY? The simple answer is Satan. The Catholic festival of All Saints Day was also known as All Hallows Day, with the word "hallow" replacing "saints." The day before All Hallows Day (October 31) was recognized as All Hallows Eve. Eventually, All Hallows Eve became Hallows Eve; hallow’even; hallow’en and ultimately today’s Halloween. The Druid festival of Samhain was a celebration of death. Strutting its hellish death images of skulls, skeletons, ghosts, demons, devils and incarnate evil – today’s Halloween glorifies death in every way possible! Do not be deceived and do not believe the lies of the enemy! Your souls depend on it!

The Devil glorifies death, no way to get around that fact! Hebrews 2:14 says, "Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil," Jesus is telling us clearly that the devil has the power of death. You must remember that Jesus Christ overcame death after his crucifixion by raising from the dead 3 days later!! Death could not hold Him! In Proverbs 8:36, it says, "But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul; All those who hate me love death." You see my friends, brothers and sisters, and my wonderful readers, there are only two choices here. Love Jesus and Life or hate Him and love death. Follow Jesus or worship Satan. Live eternally with our Father in Heaven or burn in Hell with the god of this world, the devil. The choice should be easy but I know it's not for many people! With prayer, I want to make sure those who haven't made the decision yet, knows it's not too late! While Halloween masquerades as childish fun and games, it’s serious business in the occult world and in the financial world as well. Satan makes ALOT of money on Halloween decorations, candies, costumes, masks and outlandish parties. Halloween has now surpassed Christmas as far as celebratory purchases for decorations, etc.! Sad! Witchcraft, Wicca, Satanism and paganists believe on the night of Halloween, devils and spirits are unleashed. They believe it so much they perform their most hideous and potent rituals on the night of Halloween. Now does this sound like an evening of fun and innocence to you? Hardly! When you participate on this night, you are also propagating these practices! It is here that I will inject the huge misconception about "white magic and black magic" or a "good witch or a bad witch." Know that there is NO SUCH THING as a "good" witch or "white" magic! It's a lie from the pits of hell! It's ALL dark and evil. God IS Light and nothing good comes from the darkness of this night! As a side note, the perverse and blasphemous twist to Halloween concerns the name "Halloween." The word "hallow" means "holy, sanctify or consecrate." The popular Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6:9 begins with, "Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. . ." The label "hallow" belongs to God the Father - Hallowed be thy name!!! Halloween was a night sacrificing young children to the worship of Baal. It is no accident that the name of history’s most hellish night, glorifying "death and hell," wears God the Father’s Holy name of "hallow." The blasphemous name of "Halloween" clearly bears the fingerprints of Lucifer as found in Isaiah 14:14, "I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.'" 

Christians especially get very combative and all up in arms when other Christians speak out against celebrating Halloween. I've heard some even tell me that they aren't "celebrating" anything, they're just "having fun." Participating in, dressing up, masking up, handing out candy, knocking on strangers doors for candy, throwing parties and going to parties IS, by all accounts "celebrating" that "holiday." Let's be truthful here if we're going to talk openly about it. This isn't fun and games we're talking about and those who consistently support and justify celebrating this evil time, isn't funny. It's quite scary. Most "arguments" in favor of Halloween and Trick or Treat fall under the category, "fun and games." I've heard it all....1) "But it's harmless fun." 2) "I used to do it growing up and nothing wrong with it." 3) "It's not the devil's holiday. It's for kids to dress up and get free candy." 4) "It's harmless." 5) "It's only one day out of the year. Let the kids have some fun." Satan is all about "fun." He's all about making evil look good. He's all about tricking people into eating out of his very hands. But you see? It's one of his snares. Whether or not something is fun is really one of the worst arguments for doing anything. Lots of "sinful" things can be "fun" but that doesn't mean it's the right thing to do nor does it mean we should do them. Sadists think it’s fun to inflict pain upon other people. Bullies think it’s fun to pick on or beat up smaller, unpopular, awkward people. The list goes on but you can see where I'm going with this. Fun is no basis for our behavior, nor should it be. Don't get me wrong, not all fun things are bad. However, not all fun things are good either and Satan will be sure to confuse you. This is what’s known as an "unnecessary clarification." People don’t commit adultery because it’s a high and noble calling; they do it because it’s fun in their eyes and it's the "thrill" of the lies and not getting caught. God gives us a clear handbook on these things, it would benefit many to read it! The Bible! The bottom line....it's not the celebration, it's WHAT you are celebrating that matters and makes all the difference! No matter what you think the "holiday" is, and no matter how you treat that day, it is inherently and irrevocably a day dedicated to reveling in and celebrating everything that God absolutely hates. The fact that you want to dress up in funny or scary costumes and go door to door with your kids in what you would deem as harmless fun doesn’t change at all the nature or purpose of the holiday itself!

So for Christians who decide to participate in Halloween festivities, you would be actively identifying with, actively promoting, and celebrating death because that's what it's all about. During this time of year, everyone can agree, occult movies, Satanic tv shows, witchcraft promotion, occult themes, monsters, ghosts, haunted houses, very demonic activities. Those things are rampant! You won't find any light and airy fun-loving Halloween movies or tv shows being made and produced because it isn't about the good and light! It's about the evil and darkness. In the following, I'll point out just a few evil concepts being celebrated and promoted and they will be graphic, fair warning:

1) Death is the obvious one. For example, the Grim Reaper, graves, corpses, skeletons etc. 

2) Demons and/or Satan 

3) Seances. This is the time when people seek "spirits" out of loved ones, etc., via the Ouija board, spiritists and mediums, all which are forbidden by our Creator God!

4) Murder - You see, all the monsters, vampires, zombies, etc., want to kill people in various ways

5) Violence This apart from the main theme of killing people, there’s all kinds of violent themes, and theatrics, accompanying it like beheadings, binding up, imprisonment, torture, severed limbs, removed organs, etc. 

6) Witchcraft/Wizardry/Satanic Occult Rituals for example the most exemplified are sacrifices, altars,  incantations, summoning the dead, curses, etc.

7) Malicious pranks and "tricks" These can range from simple vandalism to evil spells that strongly affect people’s lives. Yes, they are real!

8) Night and darkness. It's primarily celebrated at dusk, parties are thrown in the night, decorations are made to light up in the dark. Nothing ever good happens in the "dark."

9) Horrific and hideous Monsters Everything from the evil werewolves and vampire bats to full on abominations formed from corpses sewn together.

Since death and the whole Halloween concept surrounding death is the prominent leader, you throw in

the monsters like the Zombies, werewolves, vampires, Frankenstein’s Monster, and almost every monster or creature depicted on Halloween, and you will soon see that even those center around death. Many of these creatures are eerily portrayed as wholly or partially dead, inhumane, and their sole purpose and motivation is either to outright kill people or in violently graphic ways, turn them into another monster. Turning them into the "undead" to walk amongst the "living." Satan loves this time of year! It turns Christians towards his celebration of death and clearly away from the Celebration of Life found through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior! God is a God of light, life, love, peace, joy, and goodness. Halloween, and subsequently Satan and his demons, is a day centered around darkness, death, hatred, violence, rage, vitriol, misery, and evil. There's great issues with Christians gallivanting around, dressed up in costumes and masks, celebrating evil with non-believers doing the same thing while immersing their children in it! 

We don't need to be celebrating goblins, witches, demons, Satan, or horrific monsters. We shouldn't be advertising for death, violence, and evil in general. During the month of October, the most horrendous of images are being displayed all over the stores, advertised on tv, even in innocuous businesses. It's hard to escape those images and it's even harder to protect the little eyes of the innocent children from taking in those same sights. Besides, all of the things represented on and for Halloween are a direct result of sin and in direct opposition to how God intended this world to be. Evil is evil is evil no matter how you want to "dress" it up. I know some people would argue that costumes and decorations are quite harmless but they would be sadly mistaken! Why is dressing up like your most popular "perception" of Satan (or one of his demons) any different? Why are witches suddenly so much fun and cute now that Satan has helped us to forget that they have, and in some places still do practice real witchcraft? Why are vampires, which are really nothing more than possessed dead people who kill by drinking blood (something vehemently forbidden in Scripture) somehow considered "cool" these days? And let me remind you once again, that I’m specifically talking to Christians, the very people who care what God thinks, or at least profess they do. I don't mean to offend or be sarcastic, but these things are not to be taken lightly! God doesn't take them lightly, nor should we! And in the climate that we are all living in currently, full of rage, disengagement, demonic rageful people, I look around and see just how much darker this world has become because of Satan's lies and deception! I don't want more people falling into his grip! When we decided to follow Christ, it meant being different, being set apart from the ones living in the world, and it also meant giving up a lot of what makes us worldly happy and partaking in worldly fun. We accepted Jesus Christ's free gift of Salvation to die to self and take up our cross! We shouldn't be going alongside those who celebrates Satan and the evil he has spewed out upon this land. God replaces those fleshly desires with better, life giving ones, if we can just let go of the old man! Once we let go of the old man, we are then able to feed the new nature that is Christ within us. 

So just how did Halloween come to America? Here is the intriguing answer from history: "The American celebration rests upon Scottish and Irish folk customs WHICH CAN BE TRACED IN DIRECT LINE FROM PRE-CHRISTIAN TIMES" - from paganism! "Although Halloween has become a night of rollicking fun, superstitious spells, and eerie games which people take only half seriously, its beginnings were quite otherwise. The earliest Halloween celebrations were held" - not by the inspired early Church, but  "by the Druids in honor of Samhain, Lord of the Dead, whose festival fell on November 1." (From Halloween Through Twenty Centuries, by Ralph Linton, p. 4.) Notice what the authoritative Encyclopedia Britannica says about Halloween as a direct quote: "It long antedates Christianity. The two chief characteristics of ancient Halloween were the lighting of bonfires and the belief that this is the one night in the year during which ghosts and witches are most likely to wander about. History shows that the main celebrations of Halloween were purely Druidical" - from the pagan Druids of Northwest Europe - "and this is further proved by the fact that in parts of Ireland October 31 is still known as OIDHCH SHAMHNA, 'Vigil of Saman.' Saman or better known as Samhain was the pagan lord of the dead among the Druids. Hardly anything to celebrate and hardly anything that we should even WANT to celebrate! In my post above I went deeper into the roots of Samhain and I would suggest reading up on that as well. Halloween is steeped in paganism! 

Jack Roper, occult researcher with C.A.R.I.S. (Christian Apologetics: Research & Information Service) says "...the time of the year where you have the highest rate of Satanic ritual crimes is Halloween. Around Halloween, one of the things you see are graveyard desecrations." And something else he said that put it very simply, "You would never see Jesus at a Halloween party. Halloween parties in churches are an abomination to the Lord." Halloween is an evil day. There is NO way around it! Halloween honors Satan, idol worship, immorality, demonic rituals and human/animal sacrifices. Halloween is not a day I want to celebrate because of what it has stood for and what it stands for today. I don't pass out candy. I don't participate in "Halloween" functions. I don't decorate. I don't go to parties.  I Corinthians 10:20-21, "But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils. 21) 21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord's table and of the table of demons." Despite the public relations campaign to "sell" the public on the "virtues" of witchcraft, modern day witches and Satanists still worship demon gods & goddesses, practice bizarre & immoral sexual rituals, and certain groups offer animal and human sacrifices. Many animal adoption centers as well as the Humane Society will NOT adopt out ANY black cats for the month of October due to their fear of ritualistic abuse. More heinous is if you do a little research on missing children around this time of the year, you will find how those cases increase considerably as opposed to other times of the year. Children are Satan's target audience. PROTECT THEM FROM THIS DAY! 

I would like to briefly discuss two of the main themes of Halloween: Trick or Treat and Costumes and Masks. I believe these both are imperative to discuss to get a wide scope of understanding into its diabolical meanings! First Masks and Costumes. These carry a long history of occult and demonic possession. Masks are specifically used as contacts to the spirit world in order to invite the spirit to "possess" them. In the World Book Encyclopedia, 2005 edition on page 263, it states, "In rituals, a person wearing a mask of a god or spirit often feels possessed by the supernatural being. . ." The early origin of costumes is repulsive. On the evening of October 31st, the Druids, who were the occultic priests and teachers of the Celts, ordered the people to put out their hearth fires. The Druids built a huge new year's bonfire of oak branches, which they considered sacred.  They burned animals, crops and human beings as sacrifices to their sun god Muck Olla and Samhain, their god of death. During this diabolical ceremony the PEOPLE WORE COSTUMES made of animal heads and skins. They then practiced divination, looked for omens in the struggle of the victims sacrificed in the fires, jumped over the flames or dashed through them, danced and sang. All of this was done to frighten the evil spirits away. In the 11th edition of Encyclopedia Britannica, volume 12, page 8578 it states, "It was the Druids belief that on the eve of this festival (November 1st, Celtic New Year) Saman, lord of death, called together the wicked souls (Spirits) that within the past twelve months had been condemned to inhabit the bodies of animals." Saman would then send these evil spirits to attack people on the eve before the November 1st celebration. The only way these people could escape was by assuming disguises and looking like evil spirits themselves. (See Christianity Today, October 22, 1982, p.32). Costumes and masks are getting generally more bloody, gory, demonic and depraved each year. It appears the more desensitized the people become, the darker the images become! Unfortunately, the gruesome and grotesque and the occult are increasingly glorified in American society, not only on Halloween, but throughout the year. Costumes of ANY kind is still a representation of this original "sin."

But what then is Trick or Treat, we might ask? If, for some reason, you'd forgotten to dress up or couldn't fool the demons by dressing in animal skins or other disguises, there was a sure way of exorcising them. You needed to set out a TREAT of food and fruit, and provide the wandering spirit with shelter for the night. Basically inviting a demon to reside for the night IN your HOME! If the demon was content and satisfied with the TREAT you offered, they would not TRICK you by casting an evil spell on you. In a shocking account of Trick or Treat written by a former witch, Irene Park,  she says, "...the Druids in Ireland would go through the neighborhoods and countryside on the eve of October 31st to collect offerings to Satan. They would carry lanterns, bags of money, and canes with very sharp points on the ends (currently known as leprechaun staffs, good luck horns, or fairies' wands). At each house, they would demand a specific amount. If the household would not or could not give the offering (penance or treat), the Druid would use the cane to castrate the male human or one of their prize animals." (From; Seven High Pagan Masses and Halloween by Irene A. Park; page 1) 

Keep Your Mind on Jesus!

From just those two rituals, and yes, I am calling them rituals because that's exactly what they represent, you can see just how demonic and evil this night of celebration really is and even more so, you should be able to see how Christians should not be in participation in these rituals alongside those who are not believers because within those people, you will find the Satanists, witches and the spiritists. riding the coattails of one of the many demons that Satan has dispensed specifically for his bidding. My intentions here are to educate those who are unknowingly participating in something as evil as this night! I want to ensure that unbelievers and believers alike are armed with the truth and the knowledge of what this "holiday" and time of year represent so they aren't fooled by the lies of Satan. It's to educate those Christians who seem to want to justify this evil night or its blasphemous "alternative." It's to show each one that Satan is the ruler of this earth, this is his kingdom, and he will tell the most unforgiving lies to make anyone "unawares" believe this is just some fun for the kids to dress up and get candy, or just some fun for the adults to go to parties and hand out candy to the "beggars." Behind every lie is a hint of the truth! This, my friend, is Satan's truth. This is who he is and how he operates. The spirit world is REAL. The demonic rituals are real. These are the things you will be enabling, celebrating and participating in if you still choose to dress up and go trick or treating. But don't say you didn't know! Don't open a door to the occult for yourself, but moreso, for your children because if it's opened just a little a spirit can enter in, and torment will surely ensue in one form or another. Use this Halloween as an opportunity to labor for the Lord Jesus Christ! Matthew 9:37 says, ".....The harvest is truly plenteous but the laborers are few." And in Jude 1:23, "And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire." Pray for this night and educate those who will listen!  

So Halloween, in its truest form was actually celebrated among the pagans long before Jesus was born in Bethlehem. However, this particular pagan holiday was not celebrated alone among the Druids but was also a Roman festival! The Britannica continues from above notation and reference: "On the Druidic ceremonies were grafted some of the characteristics of the Roman festival in honour of Pomona held about November 1, in which nuts and apples, representing the winter store of fruits, played an important part." The original Halloween was a diabolical night of Baal worship and child sacrifice. And most of our current Halloween customs derived directly from Baal rituals! On November 1st was Samhain (Halloween) and fires were built as a thanksgiving to Baal. Baal is also a synonym for the devil. Halloween glorifies death in worship to Baal or the devil! The Druid festival of Samhain was a celebration of death. Plain and simple. The Druids were savage beasts to put it mildly. Strutting its evil death images of skulls, skeletons, ghosts, demons, devils and incarnate evil, today’s Halloween glorifies death the same way the ancient times did. If one's eyes can't see this, I pray for the veil to be lifted because the darkness is extra dark on this ungodly holiday. I've heard it's been said that the veil is the thinnest on this night which is why all of the sacrifices take place. The Samhain was an ancient Celtic harvest festival honoring and glorifying the Lord of the Dead. The May 1977 edition of National Geographic admitted that Samhain was a time when “firstborn children were sacrificed.” The Celts considered November 1st as being the day of death because the leaves were falling, it was getting darker sooner and temperatures were dropping. They believed that on October 31st Samhain assembled the spirits of all who had died during the previous year. They had been confined to inhabit animals' bodies for the past year as their punishment for evil deeds. Then on the eve of the feast of Samhain, October 31st, they were then given permission to return to their former homes to visit the living. Supposedly to protect these people, Druid priests led the people in diabolical worship ceremonies in which horses, cats, black sheep, oxen, human beings and other offerings were rounded up, stuffed into wicker cages and burned to death, hence the "burnt offering." This was done to appease Samhain and hopefully to keep the spirits from harming them. Nowhere in this do I find ANY THING to glorify the Lord! No matter how one tries to "replace" its meaning with a Christian "twist" it IS what it IS and ALWAYS WILL BE!

Every misguided, misdirected approach to God’s word that the enemy tries to distort, which ultimately its goal is to lead people away from Jesus Christ, is a doctrine that can be laid in the burning lap of a demon. Psalm 106:37, "They even sacrificed their sons And their daughters to demons," Throughout the Bible we can read just how easy it is for man to become enthralled by demons. Even to the extreme point that they became convinced that sacrificing their very own children to a demon was a positive thing. That same thing happens to this day for the high sacrificial night. But also, it's called abortion today. If you know the history of abortion, then you know the history of sacrifice. God is the giver of LIFE from conception. Satan's scheme is to take life. Please understand abortion has absolutely nothing to do with a "woman's right" to choose. That narrative came as a justification to legalize it and utilize it. As the recent past has proved through countless accounts of first hand studies and knowledge, abortion clinics and doctors sell the organs, tissues and limbs for profit. This is not a godly thing. It's a demonic thing. I point this out because it is a sacrifice, a blood sacrifice. I know this is a sensitive topic to many, but it must be said. As the fight for abortion rights grow, in the lies of the enemy I might add, the terms become later and later. It's now legalized in many states to have late term abortions, some even outside of the womb, a full live birth! If you've had an abortion, you can repent and be forgiven! Jesus died for your sins too! There is nothing anyone can ever do that He won't forgive if you've repented and turned from your sin, believing in the saving Grace of Jesus Christ! He will accept you into His arms like any other repentant sinner. 

And at this part of the post, I want to point out the HARVEST FESTIVAL that was celebrated by these evil Baal worshipers, is what many Christian churches TODAY try to REPLACE Halloween with as an "alternative" to trick or treat. It's the same thing! A Fall Festival is the same as the Harvest Festival. Please remember that GOD DOES NOT NEED TO BE AN ALTERNATIVE TO A SATANIC HOLIDAY! 

Dr. David Enoch, a former senior consultant psychiatrist at the Royal Liverpool Hospital and the University of Liverpool, states: "Halloween practices open the door to the occult and can introduce forces into people’s lives that they do not understand and often cannot combat. . . " This leads me to the dangers of the holiday. 1 Peter 5:8, "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." On Halloween, you can bet he is seeking the weakest, the most vulnerable, the unwittingly, the distracted and the lost more heavily. As I've mentioned above, I've heard many of people say this is just harmless fun, a night when children look forward to getting dressed up in their favorite "costume" and get as much candy as possible. Some people go as far as saying they don't allow their kids to dress up in "evil" costumes as a way to justify celebrating this death day. That never made any sense to me because even though they may not dress up like an evil person or character, the entire holiday is doused in evil starting with the decorations down to the begging. But why was Halloween celebrated in the first place? Well the shocking truth direct from history are found as plain facts as written in "THE BOOK OF HALLOWEEN," on page 10, by Ruth Kelley: The pagan Druid priests “taught the immortality of the soul, that it passed from one body to another at death . . . .  They believed that on the last night of the old year (October 31) the lord of death gathered together the souls of all those who had died in the passing year and had been condemned to live in the bodies of animals, to decree what forms they should inhabit for the next twelve months. He could be coaxed to give lighter sentence by gifts and prayers.” 

Then from Halloween Through Twenty Centuries, p. 5, "On the New Year, their sins being expiated, they were released to go to the Druid Heaven." As you can clearly see, Halloween was celebrated to preserve in the minds of the people of the false doctrine of immortality of the soul. Otherwise, that the dead really aren't dead at all. Most all of the heathen nations had days in honor of the dead. Many still do to this day. They were days that instituted originally to commemorate the death of Nimrod whom Semiramis, his wife, was said to still be alive. Genesis 10:8-10, "Cush begot Nimrod; he began to be a mighty one on the earth. 9) He was a mighty hunter before the Lord; therefore it is said, "Like Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord.” 10) And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar." Satan is "the god of this world" and 2 Corinthians 4:4 says, "whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them." And in 1 John 5:19 it says, "We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one" – not just the one night of Halloween! Our days of the week bear the names of pagan gods: Moon-day, Zues-day, Woden’s-day. Thor’s-day, Freyja-day, Saturn-day, Sun-day. Ever look on the back of the dollar bill? It clearly displays the satanic all-seeing "eye of Lucifer" in the pyramid. This earth is the devil’s playground as it is stated in John 14:30, "I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me." When Jesus Christ lived a perfect life and died for the sins of men, He qualified to dethrone Satan. The "god of this world" has been defeated! However, he remains active among us until the King of kings returns and sets up His government on earth. You can’t escape his wicked influence. But as David took Goliath’s own sword and cut his head off in 1 Samuel 17:51, "Therefore David ran and stood over the Philistine, took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and killed him, and cut off his head with it. And when the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled." we too can take one of Satan’s "swords" and cut some souls from hell. Knowledge is power and TRUTH sets us free!

Might I be so bold as to say that God hates Halloween. He has warned us against these things over and over. Here's scripture to back this statement up. Some I have used throughout this post but worth repeating! 

1) Ephesians 5:11, "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them."

2) 1 Corinthians 10:21, "You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons."

3) Ephesians 4:27, "And give no opportunity to the devil."

4) 1 Peter 5:8, "Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour."

5) 1 Thessalonians 5:22, "Abstain from every form of evil."

6) Isaiah 5:20, "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!"

7) Romans 13:12, "The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light."

8) James 4:7, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."

9) Ephesians 5:15-16, "Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16) making the best use of the time, because the days are evil."

10) John 3:19-20, "And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed."

Do Not Be Deceived!

You see, the devil wants you to battle with him. He wants you to "have a little fun." He wants you to participate in his "day of sacrifice." He mocks our Lord. God sacrificed His only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ for all of our sins, to pay our sin debt in full. Satan mimics the "sacrifice" but through evil and hate, not through good and love. Jesus died once, defeated death, rose again on the 3rd glorious day and is sitting at the right hand of the Father! Satan continues to sacrifice and steal and to kill and to destroy. He takes as many participants as he can muster up, as many as he can deceive, as many as he can make many false promises to in order to win them over. But only for a time. He wants you to spend eternity in Hell burning with him. Don't take the bait and definitely do not open any doors to allow evil to enter. There is no justification for evil. There has become an insatiable obsession with the occult, the dark side, the dark arts, the pagan practices, including yoga and the Enneagram tests. The interest has grown exponentially in the last few years and now it's to a level of unknown proportions! The Satanic realm and the occult is very real and VERY dangerous! This celebrated death covenant day is no different! Let me remind you of all the horror show marathons that show during this time of the year. The vampire shows, zombies, the occult movies, ghosts, death, dismemberment, blood and gore, not to mention all the other horrific shows and movies that are inundating the television, streaming devices and movie theaters. The supernatural movies lined up on display for "fright night" fun. Hours upon hours of non-stop horror, terrorizing the psyches of millions of people while simultaneously opening doors ever so slightly into the occult. These movies aren't the "King Kong" scary movies of old. These are all about demon possessions, Satanic rituals, graphic violence, eternal life-giving vampires, ghosts and extremely graphic psychological "thrillers." Just some of the covers of the movies on sale during this time of the year and the commercial ads are enough to make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up! I can't even imagine what watching one of them would do to me, much less to a young, undeveloped mind! The haunted houses, haunted hay rides, and all of the "theater of blood, guts and gore" are so advanced now that they are nearly real. Satan has slowly desensitized the masses while darkening the playing field. And that, in and of itself, is frightening. These things are NOT harmless fun! These horror films and slasher films and all things having to do with the supernatural is a conditioning tool, and a desensitizing mechanism aimed to make society colder, more distant, more complacent about reality and towards other human beings and to draw them into a world of darkness and AWAY from the Light and Love of Jesus Christ.

The devil glorifies death. Hebrews 2:14 says, "Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil," Did you know that Devil's Night (the night before Halloween) is the worst night of the year for ARSON FIRES? Add to the trauma, more personal property is defaced and public buildings damaged at this time than any other time of the year. Law enforcement across the country have documented and reported that there are more grave yard vandalism and desecration occurring on Halloween. Trick or Treat has become a night of "fear" because of the malicious Halloween pranks that have gone too far and has even killed people. People, this is NOT a night that anyone should celebrate!

Galatians 4:8-11, "But then, indeed, when you did not know God, you served those which by nature are not gods. 9) But now after you have known God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, to which you desire again to be in bondage? 10) You observe days and months and seasons and years. 11) I am afraid for you, lest I have labored for you in vain." 

No one can dabble in the occult and come away unscathed. Occult involvement and/or practices, whether done innocently or not, is in direct disobedience to God's Word. When people ignore God's warning and enter a forbidden realm such as the occult, they will witness spiritual phenomenons. These phenomenons are not for the good! They do NOT flow from the Lord Jesus Christ and they do NOT glorify Him in any way. The Devil does possess supernatural powers, however, everything he does for people, he requires payment. Hence selling your soul to the devil comes to mind! There is ALWAYS a price to pay for anything that he promises and it is here that I will emphasize that what he promises is temporary. It won't last, it can't last and it doesn't last. Its part of his lie. The result of occult involvement ultimately causes oppression, depression, confusion, delusion, and physical ailments of all sorts. We are warned not to be ignorant of Satan's devices in II Corinthians 2:11, "lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices." Playing with the occult, dabbling in it or practicing it as one's own "religion" has become very interesting to this country. Everywhere you go, you will witness occult activity, occult innuendos, occult references, occult themes and symbolism. It is pretty blatant and no longer hidden as much as it used to be. Psychic and astrologers are a phone call and email away. Occult themes are being worked into many television programs and movies, games and applications. Talk shows featured more and more, astrologers, divinatory, clairvoyants, scientologists, Satanists, witches, psychics, crystal gazers, dream analysis, yoga, reincarnations, hypnotists, fortune-tellers, spiritualists, parapsychologists, numerologists, mediums and New Agers. Even Disney World is deeply involved in the promotion of the occult. Yes Disney. It's no secret that Disney himself was a pedophile and his empire is steeped in controversy, hidden messages, occult practices and promoting the same ilk. Disney even "created" another empire called Pixar in order to show more "risque" shows. Why do you think SO many young Disney stars fall apart when they break from their shells? Look at who those child stars grew up to "worship" and promote themselves. The one eye pics tell it all.

2 John 7, "For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist." 

Halloween is the festival for the devil, it's the covenant with death, it's the occult drenched in Druid savagery. For Christians, it's a battle with the devil. It is everything that is in opposition to the Lord Jesus Christ. Satan is in opposition to Jesus. He is so jealous still of God the Father that he still tries to emulate Him but on an evil level, mimicking His powers but failing in their deliveries. Many people celebrate Halloween without even knowing what they're celebrating. For many, it's just a day to dress up, go to parties, knock on doors and begging for candy and getting alot of it. But if you are going to celebrate something like a holiday, wouldn't you think it to be wise to at least know WHAT you're celebrating? That's the main reason for this particular post! I want you to be aware of what roots this holiday sprouted from and for you to all be educated in its history. Your decision to participate is your decision. I will warn anyone and everyone not to celebrate this covenant with death based on the information I've provided along with Scripture. However, I can't tell you what to do. We all have a choice.....Most people will never see it, because most of evil is hidden in the darkness, but in the dark corners, out of sight, and in the out of the way places, there will be some incredibly sinister things taking place in America on Halloween night. There are people out there that truly believe that this is a night to commune with the spirits and are ready to do so, much like the ancient Celts. Remember, this night is a night of evil. It's not a night for fun and games. There is an uncanny glorification and fixation on death and the macabre. Let me make this statement about the attractiveness of death the marketing department conjure up. It can be likened to a moth to the flame kind of attraction, that is true enough, but it is a strong and powerful attraction nonetheless. Proverbs 8:36, "But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death." So a fascination with the things of death is hatred of wisdom. Folly is attracted to death. This death day brings out the worst in alot of people and helps them along to develop their own attraction to death. And loving this holiday is exactly like that....developing an attraction to death. Because, it is, my dear readers, once again, in direct opposition to the LIGHT of Jesus Christ!

I believe deep within my spirit, from everything I know and from everything the scriptures teach about our adversary the devil, that on Halloween night, while regular people are out begging for candy while dressed as skeletons, ghosts, monsters and other evil creatures, there are real people in real places, practicing real sorcery, real occult rituals and real witchcraft. People, adults and children alike, and a host of animals die on Halloween night, because Halloween is a holy day for many Satanic cults, Satanists, witches and Wiccans. The unspeakable evils that are done by those demonic people go completely unnoticed and are unknown to many of us in our homes, churches, and neighborhoods, but it doesn't do away simply because we have shut our eyes to it and it won't simply go away just because some pretend it's harmless. King Saul’s kingdom had made witchcraft illegal and the Israelites had supposedly hunted down all the sorcerers and witches, but when the time came, even that zealous Hebrew king knew where there were evil people still practicing their craft. Read in its entirety, 1 Samuel 28:1-23. 

Halloween is an excellent time and opportunity to remind our loved ones, our co-workers, our friends and neighbors that, as Christians, we are different, and not of this world. Let them know, but more important than that, let them SEE that you are set apart from the world. Romans 12:2, "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." 

In closing, Halloween is a day that honors false gods, demons and Satan. Put Ephesians 5:11 into practice, "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them." And a perfect ending to this post would be in quoting James 4:7-8, "Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8) Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded." 

All things done in the dark places will be found out by the Light! For those who have made a decision NOT to CELEBRATE THE COVENANT WITH DEATH, may this time be used to glorify the Lord! For those who need a little more encouragement, SEEK THE LIGHT AND HE WILL SHINE UPON YOUR FACE! Honor the Creator God and flee from this dark night. Many prayers will be going out for all of those who will decide to participate in the "festival of death" because sometimes we are called to stand in the gap.....Let's make this a night of PRAYER!
