The Promises of God

Seek Him First
As this world is constantly changing and evil is abound as far as the eye can see, I am reminded of the promises of God all throughout the Holy Scriptures. No matter how bad this world gets, no matter how much Satan and his minions of demons rule this world, God is in control, He is orchestrating everything to get the stage ready for the Second Coming of His Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. So this entry is going to be a little different than my others and is just simply going to be bullet points of His Promises to His children, those born again, Christ believing Christians as a reminder of His love. For those who don't know Jesus Christ and haven't accepted Him into your heart as your personal Savior yet, this will be a comfort to you, a confirmation of His love and His goodness. Of His kindness and His mercy. His power and His GRACE! Jesus died on the cross for ALL of us, for ALL of our sins. He shed His blood for US! It's not too late to accept Him, to believe in Him and to have a relationship with Him! Unlike man, who makes promises and breaks them almost before the promise is out of our mouths, God never breaks His! He can't! He won't! So let's take a look and see what some of those promises are to us!

1) Philippians 4:19, “And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”

2) 2 Peter 1:4, “By which He has granted to us His precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.”

3) Philippians 4:6-9, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.”

4) Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

5) Psalm 37:4, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.”

6) Ephesians 2:10, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

7) John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”

8) Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

9) 2 Peter 3:13, “Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.”

10) Romans 8:1-11, “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2) For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. 3) For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, 4) that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5) For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6) For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7) Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8) So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. 9) But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. 10) And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11) But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”

11) John 15:11, “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.”

12) Romans 8:29, “For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.”

13) Revelation 21:1-7, “Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. 2) Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3) And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4) And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” 5) Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” 6) And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. 7) He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.”

14) Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, “To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: 2) A time to be born, And a time to die; a time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted; 3) A time to kill, And a time to heal; A time to break down, And a time to build up; 4) A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance; 5) A time to cast away stones, And a time to gather stones; A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing; 6) A time to gain, And a time to lose; A time to keep, And a time to throw away; 7) A time to tear, And a time to sew; A time to keep silence, And a time to speak; 8) A time to love, And a time to hate; A time of war, And a time of peace.”

15) 1 John 4:1-6, “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2) By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, 3) and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. 4) You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 5) They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. 6) We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.”

16) 1 Peter 3:15-18, “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; 16) having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed. 17) For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.18) For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit...,”

17) Hebrews 4:12, “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

18) Joshua 23:14, “Behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth. And you know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good things which the Lord your God spoke concerning you. All have come to pass for you; not one word of them has failed.”

19) 1 John 2:25, “ And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life.”

20) Luke 18:27, “But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”

21) Ezekiel 36:26, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh."

22) 1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

23) Psalm 103:12, “As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us."

24) Micah 7:19, “He will again have compassion on us, and will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea."

25) Psalm 34:4, “I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears."

26) Romans 8:32, “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?"

27) Psalm 84:11, “For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly.”

28) James 1:5, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."

29) 1 Corinthians 10:13, “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it."

30) Jeremiah 30:17, “For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds,’ says the Lord"

31) John 5:28-29, “Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation."

32) John 14:2-3, “In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also."

33) Psalm 91:4-6, “He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday."

There are many more of God's Promises but seek, and you shall find, ask and it shall be given! It's in the Bible! In closing, the Word stands through the test of time, through the fires of the ravages of men, through the scoffers and the haters. But God? He REIGNS! He is ALL we have! He is the beginning and the end, the Alpha and Omega! And more importantly, through all of the darkness we see in this life, through all the heartache and pain we may feel, through all of the flood of emotions we may experience in this lifetime, God is in control! His love endures forever! He is a Loving God who wants us to spend eternity with Him and His Son! God is our HOPE! Let this be encouragement to those who know Him and let this shine the light into the hearts of those who don't and a confirmation of His Love!
